Real Madrid Finally Get There Man

Carlos-AncelottiIt dragged on for months, but Real Madrid have finally announced that Carlos Ancelotti will replace Jose Mourinho as Real coach. The former PSG and Chelsea coach has signed a three-year contract with the La Liga side.

Real were able to finally hire Ancelotti because PSG found a replacement for him in the form of former French national team coach Laurent Blanc. Blanc signed a two-year deal.

Ancelotti is the perfect hire for Madrid after the tumultuous Jose Mourinho era. Ancelotti will rebuild the Madrid dressing room, which Mourinho spit into several factions.

Plus Ancelotti is a winner. While at AC Milan he won the Champions League twice, two UEFA Super Cups, one World Club Cup, one Scudetto, one Coppa Italia, and one Supercoppa Italiana. He is one of only six coaches to have won the European Cup as a player and a coach.

He then took over at Chelsea in 2009, and won the Premier League and FA Cup. He then joined Paris Saint-Germain, and delivered their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years.

Ancelotti will be introduced to the media on Wednesday. Expect a lot of questions on Madrid’s summer transfer plans, especially concerning Isco, Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez, Cavani and Rooney. The clubs summer transfer policy has been all over the map this summer. With Ancelotti in place, and a more formal role for Zidane expected to be announced shortly, Real Madrid has the infrastructure in place to start to build a team for the upcoming season.
