Newcastle have once again been handed a tricky start to their Premier League campaign, facing three of the top six in their opening five matches.

The Magpies were given a tough start to the previous season, where they faced four of the top flight’s elite – losing every clash.

And this year they welcome Arsenal to St James’ Park on the opening day, before travelling to Norwich on August 17.

They then have their first trip to Tottenham’s new ground on August 24, before traveling to Anfield on September 14.

They end the season at home to Liverpool.

Real Madrid Back On Top Of Richest Club List

Real Madrid has once again regained the top spot the Deloitte Football Money League, but that is only because of the continuing decline of the pound against the euro.

The Deloitte Football Money League list is based on clubs’ revenue excluding transfer fees

Dan Jones, partner in the sports business group at Deloitte, said:

“All the English clubs were impacted by the continuing depreciation of the pound against the euro and the scale of this is shown by the fact that if exchange rates remained at their June 2007 level, United would be top of the money league table.”

Newcastle Fire King Kev

Reports from Newcastle say that Kevin Keegan has been fired by Newcastle after less than eight months after taking over the club.

Keegan reportedly has been unhappy with the Michael Owen negotiations and he was not involved in signing either Xisco or Nacho Gonzalez, while the club were trying to offload Joey Barton without his consent.
Keegan has been at odds with managing director Derek Llambias and Newcastle overlord Dennis Wise. Not surprisingly, Wise is favorite to take over from Keegan.
