Tottenham will host Everton in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 season, before a trip to Southampton and a home game against Newcastle.

Spurs’ first test against the traditional ‘big six’ comes against Manchester United on October 3. The following month, they face Manchester City at home and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The first north London derby will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 5, while the reverse fixture at the Emirates is scheduled for March 13.

Premier League clubs have agreed to restart the season in just three weeks’ time in what is a huge breakthrough for their Project Restart plans.

The Premier League have desperately been trying to finalize plans to get the season back underway again following its suspension at the beginning of March amid the coronavirus crisis.

June 20 has been lined up as the first round of fixtures following the Premier League’s resumption although Manchester City vs Arsenal and Aston Villa vs Sheffield United are set to go ahead on Wednesday June 17.

Liverpool Has Most Valuable Squad In Europe

The research group CIES Football Observatory have just released its most valuable squads in the transfer market from Europe’s top-five leagues, and it is the current European and World Champions who now sit top the pile.

The Liverpool squad is now worth a whopping €1.4 billion (£1.27 billion), which puts them ahead of every other club on the continent. Second is Premier League rival Manchester City at €1.36b.

Spanish giants Barcelona (€1.17b) and Real Madrid (€1.1b) are third and fourth respectively, with Chelsea shockingly in fifth place (€1.08b) despite having been banned from signing players in last summer’s transfer window.

Jose Mourinho played down talk of a place in next season’s Champions League after Son Heung-min’s dramatic 94th-minute winner against Aston Villa, although the Spurs manager accepted Manchester City’s troubles may have opened a door.

Opposite number Dean Smith was left to bemoan Martin Atkinson’s decision to award Spurs a penalty on the stroke of half time after VAR’s intervention.

But Mourinho could praise his side’s resilience and ability to create chances while placing the uncertainty created by City’s two-year Uefa ban in context.

Christian Eriksen says it wasn’t a “difficult choice” to accept Inter’s offer as he “wanted to try a new challenge in a new country.”

Eriksen made his debut for Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia win over Fiorentina, and followed it up with his first start in the 2-0 win against Udinese last weekend.

Speaking to the BBC, the 27-year-old said accepting Inter’s offer wasn’t that difficult.

“I wanted a new challenge. To stay in the Premier League would have been an easy solution,” Eriksen told the BBC’s Simon Stone.

Not sure what is more surprising. That Daniel Levy fired Mauricio Pochettino six months after he took Spurs to a Champions League final, or that he replaced him with the anti-Pochettino in Jose Mourinho?

The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss has signed a contract until the end of the 2022-23 season.
