Inter Milan Linked With Conte and Mourinho

Inter Milan are ‘following the situations of Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho’ as the club makes plans for a successor to under-pressure manager Luciano Spalletti.

Spalletti is under increasing scrutiny having overseen elimination from both the Champions League and the Europa League this season.

And according to Corriere dello Sport, with Conte and Inter’s former treble-winning coach Mourinho both out of work, the club are ‘intrigued’ at the potential of bringing one of them in post-Spalletti.

Conte has not taken a job since leaving Chelsea and the Italian remains in a fierce legal battle with the London club over a compensation package.

A three-person panel will start hearing the case at a private location on Thursday.

Two arbitrators – one each appointed by Conte and Chelsea – make up two thirds of the panel, along with a chairman who will oversee proceedings as both parties put forward their arguments.

Should the case be resolved swiftly, Conte will likely find himself inundated with offers with his preference seemingly a return to Italy where he excelled with Juventus.

As for Mourinho, he has not taken another job since being sacked by Manchester United in December.

He remains a legend with Inter having guided them to a famous treble in 2010 and would represent a popular option among supporters if Spalletti is axed.

Mourinho is said to have an option to return to the Inter bench as assistant for Saturday’s legends match against Tottenham at their new stadium.

The Portuguese has been working in the media since his departure from United but is said to be keen to make a return ahead of next season after ‘missing’ the day-to-day role.
