Thiago Silva Wants To Stay With AC Milan

The agent of Thiago Silva insists the player wants to stay at AC Milan despite reports linking him with a move big money to Manchester City or Barcelona this summer.

“Neither I nor Thiago have had contacts with Manchester City or Barcelona,” Silva’s agent Paulo Tonietto said to www.calciomercato.it.

“His preference is certainly Milan.

“Only the club executives of Milan can decide whether to sell the player.

“Right now the rumours circulating regarding his future are simply media speculation.”

Rumors of an impending deal heated up this week after Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini was spotted at AC Milan’s HQ this week. But Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani tried to reassure Milan fans that Mancini’s visit was purely social saying:

“There is an assault on him. All of the big Spanish and English clubs want Thiago Silva.

“He’ll stay at Milanello though. We’ll resist all of the temptations and there are strong ones which exist.

“All of Europe want him, including clubs with great economical power. We’ll do all we can to keep him.”

Milan are in a tough spot here. They need Silva’s leadership especially after the departure of Alessandro Nesta. But they also want Man City’s Carlos Tevez, and I would not rule out a deal between the two sides this summer despite the comments from Galliani and Silva’s agent.
