Wayne Rooney is on his way back to Manchester after apparently injuring his hamstring during a light practice in Bangkok.
United followed that up with this tweet
It is anticipated Rooney will be unavailable for selection for a month. #mufc

With the season starting in just over a months time, a month layout means Rooney will be a doubt for the Community Shield game against Wigan as well as United’s first game of the season away to Swansea.
But the timing of the news has sent off a few conspiracy alarms especially since Rooney basically tore his hamstring in a light training session. In previous year we might have put that down to Rooney beginning preseason out of shape, but earlier this week David Moyes told Talksport:
“The team here are telling me it is the best shape they have seen him in for five years,” said Moyes. “And I am taking that as a positive. The club have already stated Wayne is staying and is not for sale. I am going to get the best Wayne Rooney I possibly can.”
So did Rooney really tear his hamstring or is the injury a cover for his being sold while United are in the Far East? I guess we will find out in the next week or two.
