Roma currents shares a stadium with Lazio and the design of the Sadio Olimpico is such that the fans are not close to the pitch, which cuts down on the atmospshere in the stadium.

Roma’s new stadium is expected to hold 55,000 seats and will be modeled after English football stadiums. The new stadium will be located on the western side of Rome.

There is a push in the Serie A for teams to own the stadium (and all the revenue) that they play in. Juventus are set to open up a new stadium in 2011 and Inter Milan are in talks to develop their own ground also.
