Arsenal, Premier League

Premier League Week 6 Preview

Last week was a really good week as I went 8 for 10 and that brought my season score to 28 out of 36 of 78%.

Burnley v Sunderland
This is a huge game for Burnley, who finally get to play a team around them for once. If Burnley is going to stay up, they need to start to pick up points at home. Sunderland is a different team this year under Steve Bruce and they are much harder to beat. This will be a close game that ends up a draw.
Prediction: 1-1

Arsenal v Wigan
Arsenal finally get an “easy” game after a killer schedule to start the season. They had a big win in the Champions League and I expect them to be far to strong for Wigan.
Prediction: 3-0 Arsenal

Aston Villa v Portsmouth
Portsmouth are desperate for points – the Pompey chimes aren’t ringing in a nice way, it sounds more like the tolling of the bell. When you’ve sold so much of the team, it’s bound to take a while to get any momentum.
Prediction: 2-0 Villa

Bolton v Stoke
Bolton had an excellent win at Portsmouth last week and have not been playing badly; they’ve just failed to take the chances that they have created. Both teams are evenly matched here but I give the edge to Bolton as they are the home side.
Prediction: 2-1 Bolton

Hull v Birmingham
This is a big 6-pointer for both teams who will be around the relegation zone all season. I am not sold on either team yet, but Hull has Jozy Altidore and he could be the difference here.
Prediction: 1-0 Hull

West Ham v Liverpool
Liverpool have got themselves back into form and they need a win more than West Ham, as they cannot afford to fall any further behind in Chelsea. West Ham are not ready to challenge the big teams yet and this looks like a Liverpool win.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-1

Man Utd v Man City
The biggest Manchester derby in years. United are coming off big wins against Arsenal and Spurs while City are undefeated after beating Arsenal last week. City’s problems is who will score the goals as Mark Hughes is missing 5 forwards through injury or suspension. This should be a really good game, but the lack of goal scoring power for City costs them as United win 1-0.

Prediction: 2-1 United

Wolves v Fulham
Fulham are not a good road team, especially after playing in Europe in midweek. I cannot see anything but a huge win for Wolves here.
Prediction: 2-1 Wolves

Everton v Blackburn
Big win for Everton in midweek in Europe, but they need to start winning league games. Luckily for them Blackburn are in town and I expect nothing less than an Eveton victory this week.
Prediction: 2-0 Everton

Chelsea v Tottenham
This should be a really good game as Spurs will attack Chelsea, and that is something that very few teams do. I expect lots of goals in this one, but at the end the combination of Anelka and Drogba will be too strong for the Spurs back four and Chelsea win.
Prediction: 3-2 Chelsea
