Odds Slashed On Arsene Wenger Not Returning Next Season

Wenger Out SignArsene Wenger is in the final four months of his contract at Arsenal, and the consensus at the turn of the year was that the Frenchman would be back at Arsenal next season.

But after a bad week that saw them lose to Watford and Chelsea, defeats that ended the Gunners title dreams, Ladbrokes has for the first time this season, made Arsene Wenger odds on to leave the north London club in the summer.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said:

“The odds are starting to tip in favour of the Arsenal boo boys getting their way.

“For the first time this season, the betting indicates Wenger might be coming to the end of his time at The Emirates.”

Should Arsenal decide to not renew Wenger’s contract the bookies favorite to take over at the Emirates is Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe at 3/1. While I like Howe, it is a little earlier in his career to make the jump from Bournemouth to Arsenak.

Massimiliano Allegri is second favorite at 6/1. That would be an interesting one as Allegri replaced current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte at Juventus and the two of them don’t get along which would add some added spice to the London derbies next season.

Do you think it is time for Arsene Wenger to go or should Arsenal offer him a new two-year deal? If Wenger does go, who do you want to see replace him?
