Mourinho Giving One Match Stadium Ban

Mourinho-HandcuffsIt has not been the best of days for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. Earlier today we learnt that the beleaguered Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is being personally sued by Eva Carneiro on top of the legal action she is taking against Chelsea over the loss of her job as the club’s first-team doctor.

Then we hear that the Special One has been given a one-match stadium ban and also fined £40,000 by the Football Association after admitting a misconduct charge over his language and behavior in the defeat by West Ham on 24 October.

As a result of the suspension Mourinho will miss this weekend’s trip to Stoke.

The FA’s statement:

Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, Jose Mourinho has been given a one-match stadium suspension with immediate effect and fined £40,000.

The Chelsea manager admitted an FA charge of misconduct regarding his language and/or behaviour towards the match officials in or around the dressing room area during half-time of the game against West Ham United on 24 October 2015.

With regard to Chelsea coach Silvino Louro, who denied an FA misconduct charge in relation to the same game, The FA, having considered further representation, withdrew the formal charge of improper conduct but reminded him of his responsibilities.
