Liverpool’s 29-man squad rose in the early hours on Saturday morning to board their flight to America for their pre-season tour.
The Reds are preparing to visit Charlotte, East Rutherford and Ann Arbor during an eight-day trip.
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and new signing Naby Keita were among the travelling party, with the first two returning from the World Cup, while goalkeeper Loris Karius travelled despite his uncertain future.
Karius cut an anxious figure at Manchester Airport with the knowledge that Liverpool broke the world transfer record for a goalkeeper with the acquisition of Alisson for £65million this week.
The Roma stopper is regarded as one of the best in the world and is likely to usurp Karius in the pecking order for the No 1 jersey this season.
Summer signing Xherdan Shaqiri is set to join up with the group in New Jersey after finishing his holiday after playing for Switzerland at the World Cup.
Lazor Markovic and Divock Origi, both of which have found themselves forgotten men at the club, travelled and will see the tour as an opportunity to force their way back into the manager’s plans.
Liverpool are in America with a number of rival Premier League clubs for the International Champions Cup where they will have three fixtures.
Jurgen Klopp’s team face Borussia Dortmund on Sunday, Manchester City next Wednesday and Manchester United next Saturday.
