The new president of AS Roma, U.S. based Thomas DiBenedetto, is looking to make significant changes at his new club.
Reports in the U.S. say that DiBenedetto will appoint Walter Sabatini as his new sporting director sometime this week. Then it appears that DiBenedetto wants to bring an American star to Roma.
The biggest U.S. star is Landon Donovan and the Boston Globe is reporting that Roma has contacted his agent about a potential transfer. Donovan is under contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy, but Roma has budgeted about 10 million euros, and the club would match his current MLS salary. Donovan, 29, is the US national team’s all-time leading scorer with 45 goals.
