Neymar PSG

Paris Saint-Germain will not offer Neymar a new deal as they believe he is already leaving, according to Sport.

The Brazilian’s contract expires in June 2022 and the Ligue 1 champions do not believe there is a rush to extend his current deal.

The 27-year-old has expressed his desire to leave Paris which has greatly cooled the relationship between both parties. So much so that sports director Leonardo insists he will not devote any effort to renew Neymar’s contract.

Neymar’s father, who is negotiating the contract on behalf of his son, is said to be making life incredibly difficult for PSG, in the hope of convincing them to sell.

Valverde Criticizes Griezmann As Barcelona Lose Opener

griezmann barca

Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde says Antoine Griezmann has to come into play more following his underwhelming league debut for the La Liga champions.

The 28-year-old made his first La Liga appearance for Barca, who suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in their opening fixture on Friday.

A €120 million signing from Atletico Madrid, all eyes were on Griezmann, but he struggled to make an impact in absence of captain Lionel Messi, while Luis Suarez’s first-half injury left him isolated.

If he’s near the area, he is decisive and moves well, but you have to dominate the game for that to happen,” Valverde told reporters.

Most Valuable Players In World Football

The Football Observatory has updated their list of the most valuable players in the world and it has a very English flavor to it, with seven of the top 10 players either being English or they play in the Premier League.

That is a huge turnaround from even three years ago, when the list was dominated by La Liga stars.

The three most valuable players are all forwards: Kylian Mbappé (€252M), Mohammed Salah (€219M) and Raheem Sterling (€208M).

La Liga Logo

La Liga has made a lot of headlines this summer, and many for the wrong reason. The main talking points have been Atletico Madrid and Barcelona’s legal dispute over Antoine Griezmann’s transfer, Eden Hazard’s eventual move to Real Madrid, Nabil Fekir’s shock decision to join Real Betis and Valencia managing to keep hold of their boss Marcelino Garcia Toral after a turbulent summer.

Despite the transfer window remaining open, the focus now switches back to the football and it promises to be one of the most intriguing seasons in recent years.
