2009 MLS Power Rankings: Week 25

Week 25 (09/02)

Last Week’s Ranking in Parenthesis…

  1. Houston (2): HOU lost and doesn’t really deserve to rise, but CMB must fall.
  2. Columbus (1): The Crew lost to the Red Bulls. Even @ NY, that’s a bad result.
  3. L.A. (5): With a win over the Goats, Arena’s Gals seem to have fate on their side.
  4. Chicago (3): CHI also lost and it was @ home again, of course. Another curse?
  5. New England (6): The Revs won again and may be peaking at the perfect time.
  6. Colorado (8): COL defended the Dick from the Dynamo, so they deserve to rise.
  7. Chivas USA (4): Uh-oh, two losses? Preki can’t seem to stop the Goats’ bleeding.
  8. Seattle (7): Sigi needs to step it up and the Sounders need to find a way to score.
  9. D.C. (10): United got a huge W @ Toyota Park. It wasn’t pretty, but it’s still 3 pts.
  10. Salt Lake (11): RSL won two games! Kreis’ has resurrected their playoffs chances.
  11. Toronto (9): The Reds tied on the road, but still fall two spots based on points.
  12. San Jose (12): The Quakes should be lower, but STO Rules prevent FCD from rising.
  13. Dallas (13): The Former Burn did not play, so they won’t move up ’til next week.
  14. Kansas City (14): The Wiz lost @ home to RSL, who is terrible on the road. Yikes.
  15. New York (15): NYRB won! Woohoo. Way to play spoiler, Dane”gerous” Richards!
