Summer Sale Expected At Barcelona

Camp Nou Barcelona

With the departure of Andres Iniesta, it already looked like the start of a new era of sorts for Barcelona heading into the new season.

But many more are set to follow the Barca legend out the door at the Nou Camp as the Spanish champions aim to raise about €150 million in sales.

According to the Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona want to offload seven fringe players in a squad revamp having already allowed Iniesta as well as Paulinho to depart already.

Defender Yerry Mina, who scored a dramatic last-gasp equaliser against England at the World Cup for Colombia, and goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen will command the biggest fees with the duo having been priced at a minimum of €30 million each.

Andre Gomes can also leave for €20 million while Aleix Vidal can depart for as little as €9 million.

Barcelona are also willing to allow Lucas Digne, Marlon and Rafinha to go in an attempt to reach their desired €150 million target.

Everton have already been in talks with Barcelona over signing Mina, who has admitted he wants to play somewhere with less pressure, while they are also keen on taking Digne too in a double swoop.

Cillessen is also being monitored by Premier League clubs and earlier this summer stated he would be open to a move to England.

Liverpool and Arsenal are keen, while Chelsea could also make a swoop if Thibaut Courtois leaves the club.

Barca have already spent €60 million this summer by bringing in centre-back Clement Lenglet from Sevilla and midfielder Arthur from Gremio.

Despite cruising to the Spanish title last term, losing just one game, Ernesto Valverde’s side disappointed in the Champions League after collapsing from a three-goal first leg over Roma to be dumped out in the quarter-finals.
