The signing of former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole is having a domino effect as the man he is replacing in the Roma line-up, Dodo, appears on his way to rivals Inter Milan.
The 22-year-old Brazilian defender is expected to join the Nerazzurri on two-year loan, with the option to make the deal permanent for a fee of €7 million. Dodo will reportedly undergo a medical with Inter on Wednesday before completing his move.
I would expect that Dodo will challenge Yuto Nagatomo for that left wingback position in Walter Mazzarri’s 3-5-2 formation.
Inter have been looking for another left sided defender/wingback for months now and I like this deal for Dodo. He is considerably younger than most of the other defenders Inter have been linked with and last season whoscored.com gave him a 7.16 rating for the season, slightly better than Nagatomo’s 7.02 rating.
