The Blues boss is under mounting pressure after the Premier League champions suffered a shock 3-1 home defeat to Southampton on Saturday.
In an attempt to dampen speculation on their manager’s future, Chelsea have released a statement giving the Special One a vote of confidence. The statement said:
“The club wants to make it clear that Jose continues to have our full support.
“As Jose has said himself, results have not been good enough and the team’s performances must improve.
“However, we believe that we have the right manager to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it.”
While Jurgen Klopp is the odds on favorite to take over from Rodgers at Anfield, there are some murmurings that Mourinho would be interested in the job if Chelsea were to let him go.
If you are a Liverpool fan and could have either, would you rather have Klopp or Mourinho as your manager?
