AC Milan Striker Hands In Transfer Request

January Transfer Window

Gonzalo Higuain has formally requested to leave AC Milan as he tries to push through a move to Chelsea this week.

Chelsea are allowing striker Michy Batshuayi to join Monaco on loan for the rest of the season as they look to finalise terms with Higuain’s parent club Juventus.

Milan still want a replacement before allowing Higuain to cut short his loan, while Juventus want Chelsea to take over the terms of the 31-year-old’s deal which entails an initial £16m fee with obligation to buy at £32m.

Chelsea are understood to have proposed an 18 month loan.

UEFA Threaten AC Milan With Two-Year Europe Ban

AC Milan must break even by June 2021 or face being banned from European competition for two years under Financial Fair Play rules, UEFA has announced.

The decision from the European governing body’s adjudicatory chamber comes after Milan successfully appealed against a two-year ban being immediately imposed this summer, with the Court of Arbitration for Sport referring the matter back to UEFA to impose a ‘proportionate disciplinary measure’ in July.

Milan had been found to be in breach of the break-even requirements of the Financial Fair Play regulations, and Friday’s ruling leaves the club at risk of sitting out European competition in 2022-23 and 2023-24 should they qualify.

AC Milan Want Antonio Conte And Ivan Gazidis

AC Milan are keen to replace Gennaro Gattuso with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in a major overhaul this summer.

The seven-time European Champions are under new ownership and have already sacked two of their biggest names behind the scenes in a huge summer shake-up.

Sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli and chief executive Marco Fassone were dismissed this week, and it now appears Gattuso could be the next to leave.

Conte is out of work following his departure from Stamford Bridge this month, and would be an obvious choice given his previous time in Serie A with Juventus and others.

Juventus And Milan Considering shock Bonucci-Higuain Swap Deal

Juventus and AC Milan have begun talks over a possible swap deal involving Leonardo Bonucci and Gonzalo Higuain according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

AC Milan are keen on acquiring the services of Argentinian forward Higuain, whose future at Juve is in doubt following the high-profile signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The newspaper is reporting that the Bianconeri want to bring back former defender Bonucci as part of the deal for the £54m-rated striker, who is also wanted by Chelsea.

Italian centre-back Bonucci swapped Juventus for Milan in a shock £37m transfer last summer, going on to make 51 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri.

Chelsea Battling With PSG To Sign Leonardo Bonucci

Chelsea are looking to take advantage of AC Milan’s precarious financial situation by making an offer for star centre back Leonardo Bonucci, according to reports.
