Arsenal Sign ANOTHER Starlet In Takuma Asano

Takuma-Asano-AFCArsenal have finally made a signing this summer! After being turned down by Jamie Vardy and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Gunners have lowered their sights and signed 21-year-old Japanese striker Takuma Asano.

‘Takuma is a talented young striker and very much one for the future,’ said Wenger.

‘He has had an impressive start to his career in Japan and we look forward to him developing over the next couple of years.’

Arsenal have apparently made signing a top striker a priority this summer but Gunners fans will be hoping that Asano is not it, as he is expected to be sent out on loan next season.

It has been a good summer for Arsenal players with Alexis Sanchez, Oliver Giroud and Aaron Ramsey all shining in the Copa America and Euros respectively.

Interestingly Sanchez and Giroud have both shined as part of a two-man attack and I wonder if those performances could convince Arsene Wenger to pay two up-front at Arsenal next season in a potential 4-3-1-2 formation that would see Sanchez and Giroud up-top? That would allow Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil and new signing Granit Xhaka to all feature in a strong midfield where the width would come from the full-backs.

It would add another dimension to Arsenal’s attack and also provide an alternative solution that prevents them from being so predictable.

Wenger can still press ahead with plans to sign another centre forward, but if he wants to ease the pressure on Giroud, then giving him a strike partner could be the way to go.
