Reports from Newcastle say that Kevin Keegan has been fired by Newcastle after less than eight months after taking over the club.
Keegan reportedly has been unhappy with the Michael Owen negotiations and he was not involved in signing either Xisco or Nacho Gonzalez, while the club were trying to offload Joey Barton without his consent.
Keegan has been at odds with managing director Derek Llambias and Newcastle overlord Dennis Wise. Not surprisingly, Wise is favorite to take over from Keegan.
Newcastle under Mike Ashley are in danger of becoming a joke. Wise will be the 3rd manager in Ashley’s reign which is only 15 months old. Newcastle has one of the best fan bases in the country, but Ashley is in danger of seriously damaging the Newcastle brand.
Newcastle has made a promising start to the EPL season, but that is about to change. Their one true superstar is Owen and I expect him to leave for me next summer as a result of today’s decision.
