Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero has arrived in Manchester to complete his reported £40m move to Manchester City.
Aguero said on Twitter:
“Just arrived in Manchester to tie up the details of the signing for City. Everything is going well. I’ll tell you more in a little while.”
Aguero will become the second most expensive player in Premier League history following Chelsea’s £50m deal for Fernando Torres in January.
Atletico coach Gregorio Manzano was disappointed in the way this lomg-running transfer saga ended saying:
“It does look like this long-running issue will be resolved in the coming hours. It is at an end,” Manzano said. “I had hoped that he could have chosen a better, more professional way to leave and shown more love to the club.”
While losing Aguero is a big blow to Atletico, they made a nice profit in three years from him after signing Aguero for 23 million euros in 2006.
The big question now for Atletico fans is whether the team will reinvest the money from the Aguero into new players for the team?
