Athletic Bilbao midfielder Carlos Gurpegi looks set for a lengthy spell in the treatment room after the club confirmed he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament.
Gurpegi suffered the knee injury in the 1-1 Primera Division draw at Valencia, where he twisted the joint and needed treatment.
The Basque club confirmed on Monday that an MRI scan has shown the extent of the damage, and they will schedule surgery in the coming days.
