18,000 fans watch Madrid practice in Toronto

I am in Toronto for the Real Madrid v Toronto FC game Friday. Last night, Real Madrid held a practice session at BMO Field and over 18,000 fans turned up to watch.

Fans paid $15 for the privilege to watch the practice, though there was a limit to their largesse as they kept any balls that found their way into the seats during a half-hour scrimmage in the south end of the pitch. The quick workout concluded with the players kicking some souvenir balls into the stands, though those on the north side were out of luck.

Kaka and Xavi Alonso are both expected to make their Real Madrid debuts tomorrow and Ronaldo is expected to play for at leats 45 minutes.
