Europa League Draw: Man Utd-AC Milan Lead Mouthwatering Knockout Ties

Sevilla Europa League

Manchester United were drawn against AC Milan in the most high-profile tie in Europa League round-of-16 draw.

The draw saw Arsenal face the side who eliminated them from the competition last season in Olympiakos, while AS Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk, Champions League regulars in recent seasons, will play one another.

Between them, United and Milan have won a total of 10 European Cup/Champions League titles. They last faced each other in the Champions League round of 16 in 2010, when United won 7-2 on aggregate.

Benfica: We Cant Understand How A Slovenian Was In Charge Of This Match

Benfica through their president Luis Felipe Vieira have termed the Champions League exist as a ‘outrage’ and they have vowed to protest to the Portuguese Football Federation.

Many might be wondering why Vieira is not going through UEFA and the truth is am just as shocked  as you are, however, having watched the match, i do believe Benfica have a reason to feel short changed.

The Portuguese side were the better of the two in the opening minutes of the game and they should have gone forward on more than two occasion were it not for their lack of sharpness in front of goal.

Arsenal Knocked Out As Milan and Benfica Make It To Quarters

An amazing Arsenal side were yesterday forced to rue their missed chances as their hopes of progressing to the quarter finals of the Champions League were extinguished by a very poor Milan side.

Losing 3-0 on the night, Milan made it through to the last eight 4-3 on aggregate thanks to their first leg 4-0 win at the San Siro two weeks ago. I have to admit, after Van Bommel’s early yellow card and Kosceilny’s 7th minute opener, i knew i was in for a long night.
