inter-championsleagueInter president Massimo Moratti’s inability to make a clear decision about the sale of the club has hampered in the transfer market this summer and delayed the rebuilding of the squad.

To quickly recap Moratti’s financial situation. His family’s wealth comes from Saras Raffinerie Sarde SpA, a company in the oil refining business. This company has struggled in recent years and has not paid out any dividends since 2009. Recently Moratti had to sell a minority stake in the company to Russian company Rosneft in order to raise funds.

Needing just a point to be confirmed champions, Antonio Conte’s men retained their crown, and the club’s 29th overall, thanks to an Arturo Vidal penalty. Juventus claims 31 titles as they include the back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006 that were later stripped of them and relegated to Serie B in the Calciopoli match-fixing scandal.

But that is what is happening as Inter chief Massimo Moratti insists that he’s never considered replacing Andrea Stramaccioni while Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has silenced the rumours about the future of Massimiliano Allegri.

Inter have been very up and down this season and have won just two of their last nine games in Serie A and four from the last 14. That run of bad form has increased speculation about Strama’s job but Moratti tols Sky Sport Italia today:

Figo to replace Stramaccioni At Inter?

Stramaccioni_InterReports in Portugal this evening have suggested that Luis Figo could become interim Inter Milan Coach.

According to jogo.pt, should lose in the Milan derby this coming Sunday, Inter President Massimo Moratti would sack coach Andrea Stramaccioni and appoint Figo until the end of the season

The former Real Madrid and Barcelona midfielder is currently a board member at Inter.

Inter have been struggling of late and just two wins from their last nine League games. Sunday’s 4-1 thrashing by Fiorentina, was the Nerazzurri’s eighth league defeat of the season, and ended any hope they had of catching Serie A leaders Juventus.

diego militoThe season is over for Inter Milan striker Diego Milito and he could be out of action for up to nine months after suffering a serious knee injury in last night’s Europa League win over CFR Cluj

The Inter striker fell awkwardly with his studs caught in the turf just seven minutes and it immediately looked bad, as his left knee turned dramatically and he was stretchered off in tears.

“Unfortunately, this injury rather ruined the night,” said Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni.

“It is a lesion to the anterior cruciate ligament, damage to the collateral ligament and capsule. It is a terrible injury and totally new compared to the problems he had in the past.

According to Gazzetta, Mauro Icardi has agreed to move from Sampdoria to Inter. The 19-year-old Argentinian striker is the best young talent in Serie A and his signing is a major coup for the Nerazzurri.

While the final transfer payments are being worked out, the deal is reportedly worth between €15-16,000,000 plus add-ons. The only question is whether the deal is all cash, or whether an Inter player (Silvestre) will be heading to Sampdoria in part-exchange.

Balotelli Saves Milan While Roma Continue To Struggle

Three straight wins had maintained Milan’s hopes of earning a top-three finish, but Segundo Ibarbo flicked Daniele Conti’s free-kick into the net in the final action of the first half to put Cagliari in front. However, Mario Balotelli scored from the penalty spot with eight minutes remaining to earn a point for the Rossoneri, who could be displaced by neighbours Inter Milan should the Nerrazzuri beat Chievo Verona later tonight.

Napoli Boss Wants Cavani To Stay

Today, Napoli chief Aurelio De Lauerentiis responded to those rumours saying that just because has Edinson Cavani has a buyout clause in his contract that a transfer is inevitable.

The Uruguayan international signed a new contract in the summer, but that deal included a €63m release fee.

“The last thing on my mind is depriving myself of Cavani,” the Stadio San Paolo chief commented today.
