Man United Have £75m Bid For Juventus Pair Turned Down

PogbaAccording to reports in the Standard and Daily Mail, Manchester United have had a sensational bid for Juventus pair Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal turned down.

David Moyes watched Juventus play on Sunday and United officials met with Juventus’s chief transfer negotiator after the game about a double move for Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal.

Pogba is currently valued at a whopping £40m and with Vidal thought to be worth around £35m, making any deal worth around £75m. But Juventus told United they are not interested in selling their stars, especially during the January transfer window.

The same goes for Arturo Vidal, who has also been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, as Juve said that he would not be available until at least the summer.

“Juventus in its history has always bought many and sold few, when talking about champions,” said Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta.

“From our point of view, we do not want to sell Pogba and so far we have closed the door to any possible buyer.

“Our aim is to consolidate the group. We do not want to sell him, but certain assessments must be made later.”

The development of Pogba, who left Manchester United on a free transfer in 2012, into one of European football’s most promising youngsters, highlights how bad a decision it was by Fergie and the Man United board to let him leave. How far where the two sides apart of money, £10,000 a week? That is pocket change compared to paying £40m to buy him back two years later.

Left unsaid is whether Pogba and his agent would even be interested in returning to Manchester, especially as Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with a move for the French international.

And to wrap up a bad trip, it appears that Juve are not interested in Nani at United’s asking price of between £16m and £18m as they are willing to offer only half as much.

Still cannot understand why United gave Nani a new contract earlier in the season. He has been a disappointment the last couple of seasons and a change in manager has not changed that.
