Flamini Surprisingly Signs New One-Year Deal With AC Milan

I wrote last week that Mathieu Flamini has left AC Milan after the two sides could not agree on a new two-year deal.

Well it seems that Flamini realized that the £28,000 per week that Milan offered, was a lot more than anyone else would give him, so he has returned to the San Siro for one more year.

A statement from AC Milan read simply:

“Mathieu Flamini, Rossonero since 2008 and also next season.”

Flamini has made 100 appearances for Milan since signing from Arsenal: 78 in Serie A, 17 in the Champions League and five in the Italian Cup. He has scored four goals: against Novara in both the league and Italian Cup, and against Bari and Bologna in the league.

Flamini has won both the Serie A title as well as an Italian Supercup with Milan.

But the 28-year-old missed most of the last campaign after getting injured in a pre-season friendly and undergoing knee surgery.
