Bayern Munich Heading To Champions League Final

FC Groningen - FC Utrecht, Arjen Robben op videoschermIt has been a roller coaster ride in the Champions League for Bayern Munich fans this season.

In the group stages they had to beat Juventus in Turin in the last game to even advance to the knockout stages.

Then in the knockout stages it took two wonderful Arjen Robben goals to see off Fiorentina. Then against Manchester United, Bayern found themselves 3-0 down in the second leg before mounting a great comeback.

The semi-finals were much more straightforward for Bayern. Lyon were poor in the first leg and returned home for the second leg, trailing 1-0.

But 26 minutes into the game, Lyon found themselves a goal down. Arjen Robben played in a lovely ball to Muller.

He was swiftly closed down by two Lyon defenders but managed to cut it back to Ivica Olic who spun and fired home.

When Lyon captain Cris harshly dismissed on the hour mark, it was game over. Two more goals from Olic sent Bayern Munich to their first Champions League final since 2001.
