Rev Beat Columbus And Head To Playoffs

Revs Coach Jay HeapThe New England Revolution is returning to the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in four seasons after a nail biting 1-0 win against the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium. The win, combined with other results around the league, meant the Revs ended the season in third place on the Eastern.

New England finished the season by going 4-0-2 in its last six games, including a 2-0-1 mark on the road in that stretch.

Revs GM Mike Burns has to get some of the credit for New England making the playoffs as its was his May trade that brought Juan Agudelo to New England. Without Agudelo and his seven goals New England does not make the playoffs. A piece of brilliance from him today single-handedly put the Revs into the playoffs and illustrated why New England fought so hard to keep him from moving to Stoke in the summer.
