Real Madrid Sent Leon And Gago Out On Loan

Real Madrid have sent Pedro Leon and Fernando Gago out on loan to get some much needed playing time. Leon is joining Getafe while Fernando Gago has joined Roma.

Leon returns to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez just a year after he was sold to Real for a fee of around £9 million. A joint-statement between the two clubs reads:

“Real CF and Getafe CF have reached an agreement for the transfer of Pedro Leon. Getafe CF may exercise the right to buy the player at the end of this season.”

The move to the other side of the Spanish capital did not go as planned for the 24-year-old. He made only six appearances in La Liga for Los Merengues, and just one of those in 2011 as he fell out with manager Jose Mourinho. The former Spain U21 international now returns to the club where he scored eight league goals in his one season with them.

Gago is also on the move after securing a one-year loan deal at ambitious Serie A club Roma. Gago, who had been linked with Manchester City, joined Madrid from Boca Juniors in January 2007 but has failed to make an impression under Jose Mourinho.
