Figo to replace Stramaccioni At Inter?

Stramaccioni_InterReports in Portugal this evening have suggested that Luis Figo could become interim Inter Milan Coach.

According to jogo.pt, should lose in the Milan derby this coming Sunday, Inter President Massimo Moratti would sack coach Andrea Stramaccioni and appoint Figo until the end of the season

The former Real Madrid and Barcelona midfielder is currently a board member at Inter.

Inter have been struggling of late and just two wins from their last nine League games. Sunday’s 4-1 thrashing by Fiorentina, was the Nerazzurri’s eighth league defeat of the season, and ended any hope they had of catching Serie A leaders Juventus.

This is a big week for Strama and Inter. Before the second Derby della Madonnina of the season on Sunday, Inter must first travel to Romania for the second leg of a Europa League tie with Cluj.

On Monday, Stramaccioni’s was asked whether he feared for his job and he answered:

“My future is Inter’s future. We’re always being judged and what matters most is immediately turning things around.”

I feel it would be a terrible knee-jerk mistake by Inter to fire Strama. Yes he is having growing pains as he learns on the job. But by all accounts, Stramaccioni has the potential to be a terrific manager. Why let him go elsewhere and develop there?
