The fixture list for the 2012/13 Bundesliga season was published today and two-time defending Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund will start the 2012-13 season against Werder Bremen
Dortmund and Bremen, two original members of the league, will begin the 50th Bundesliga slate at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on Aug. 24, exactly 49 years to the day the teams first met in league play.
Champions League finalist and Bundesliga runner-up Bayern Munich will visit Bundesliga 2 champions Greuther Furth, who will be playing in Germany’s top division for the first time in 20 years.
Schalke, who finished the 2011-12 campaign in third position, will have to deal with Hannover in their first match of the new season, while Champions League hopefuls Borussia Monchengladbach have been paired with Hoffenheim.
