Schalke 04 2020-2021 Fixtures

We have Schalke 04 tickets to every big Bundesliga game this season including the Revierderby with Borussia Dortmund.

Founded in 1904, Schalke has won seven German championships, five DFB-Pokals, one DFL-Supercup and one UEFA Cup. Schalke also succeeded as the first German club to win a cup double in 1937.

Since 2001, Schalke’s stadium has been the Veltins-Arena. Schalke holds a long-standing rivalry with Ruhr neighbours Borussia Dortmund, arguably one of the most widespread and well-known rivalries in German football, and matches between the two teams are referred to as the Revierderby.

Bundesliga Trying To Return On May 9

bundesliga logo

The Bundesliga is ready to return on May 9 if the German government gives it the green light, league officials have confirmed.

The league has been suspended since mid-March due to the outbreak of coronavirus, which has infected more than 148,000 and killed over 5,000 people in Germany.

Its resumption, behind closed doors, remains dependent on government and all federal states’ approval, and Bundesliga chief executive Christian Seifert warned providing an exact date “would be presumptuous and is not in our hands”.

“If we start on 9 May, we are ready. If it is later, we will be ready again,” DFL chief executive Seifert said on Thursday.

Bundesliga Games To Be Played Behind Closed Doors Until 2021

Stunning news out of Germany as Bundesliga chief Christian Seifert says that it is unlikely that the matches will be played in front of fans until 2021!

That timeline is something that has been whispered recently. But this is the first time that someone with authority in football has made such a public comments.

Germany has managed the coronavirus pandemic as well as anyone in Europe, which puts them in a position to return to training, and competition, before any of the other top five leagues.

Bundesliga Weekend Preview

Köln - LeverkusenA look at the games in the Bundesliga this weekend:

Werder Bremen v Hannover 96
Bremen manager Thomas Schaaf needs three points in thisderby if his lofty talk of targeting Europe is to come true. Captain Clemens Fritz, who is suspended, along with striker Marko Arnautovic, thinks avoiding a relegation battle might be a more realistic aim for the 12th-placed team. There’s talk of yet another system change; Schaaf has experimented with a 4-4-2 in training. Will that bring more solidity? It’s doubtful. Hannover (10th), who have looked refreshed after the winter break and held off Wolfsburg with ten man last week, will be without quite a few regular defenders but can bring back midfield enforcer Sergio Pinto. The visitors will play on the counter and hope to catch out Werder’s notoriously poor defence.

Europe

Raul To Leave Schalke In The Summer

Probably the best striker in Madrid history, Schalke’s Spanish forward Raul Gonzales has confirmed that he will be leaving the Bundesliga club at the end of the season.

The 34 year old shocked fans and critics alike when he left Madrid for Schalke in the summer of 2010 with many believing it was the end of his illustrous career. However, 2 years and 27 goals later, Raul has proved his doubters wrong.

With 14 goals in the Bundesliga so far, Raul is Schalke’s second highest goal scorer this season-a statistic that made the club offer him a one year extension to his contract that runs out this summer.

Europa League

Schalke Stunned At Home

German club Schalke 04 last night suffered an embarassing 4-2 home defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their Europa League quarterfinals. The Basque side were heading for a draw after Raul’s two goal haul drew the match level on 2 a piece but late strikes from Oscar De Marcos and Muniain put the tie beyond Schalke.

This is another impressive performance from Bilbao who had knocked out heavyweights Manchester United in the round of 16 ties. It definitely will be a mountain to climb for Schalke when they meet in a week’s time at the San Mames Stadium.
