In an incredible weekend, Manchester United have signed Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin for a reported £25m. Add in the purchases of Matteo Darmian for £13m and Bastian Schweinsteiger for £14m, United have spent around £52m in the last three days. Or the equivalent of buying Raheem Sterling!
All three signings are expected to fly out with United when they leave for their USA tour on Monday.
While the signing of Schweinsteiger is grabbing all the headlines, the signing of Schneiderlin, who won 79 tackles in the Premier League last season, the fourth-highest in the division, is a terrific deal for United who have significantly improved their midfield this summer,and could line-up against Spurs on opening day with the mouth-watering quintet of Schneiderlinf, Schweinsteiger, Depay, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.
