Is Fabio Capello Heading To Inter Milan?

The English FA will hold emergency talks with Fabio Capello today in a bid to end Inter Milan’s pursuit of the England manager.

Capello again refused to commit his future to England yesterday after the win over Japan saying:

“I don’t speak with some people from Inter Milan. I know nothing about this. The situation will be clear in two days.”

Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti has publicly revealed that Capello is on a list of potential replacements for Jose Mourinho and there are reports in Italy that Moratti will make a formal approach to Capello’s representatives this week.

Inter v. Barca Showdown

Luci a San Siro - 15 febbraio 2009 Inter and Barca face off in a week for a spot in the Champion’s League Finals and now the competition is getting tight.  I FULLY expect this to be a great set of matches between two very strong teams who have alot to gain and even more to lose.

For Inter alot of what they carry is the reputation of Italian Soccer.  They haven’t fared well this year in international competition and a win in the Champion’s League would help bolster to proud Italians.  It’s a different pull than that of the French because the French are seen as “second class” in many Soccer circles.  Italy just needs to live up to its potential.

Real Madrid Back On Top Of Richest Club List

Real Madrid has once again regained the top spot the Deloitte Football Money League, but that is only because of the continuing decline of the pound against the euro.

The Deloitte Football Money League list is based on clubs’ revenue excluding transfer fees

Dan Jones, partner in the sports business group at Deloitte, said:

“All the English clubs were impacted by the continuing depreciation of the pound against the euro and the scale of this is shown by the fact that if exchange rates remained at their June 2007 level, United would be top of the money league table.”
