Man City Squeak By LA Galaxy On Penalties

Joe Hart saved A.J. DeLaGarza’s penalty and then scored the winner in the ninth round of a penalty shootout as Manchester City beat the Los Angeles Galaxy 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Mario Balotelli opened the scoring for Man City from the penalty spot after Micah Richards was taken down in the box by Bryan Jordan. Less than 10 minutes Balotelli was on the bench after this showboating play drew the ire of City boss Roberto Mancini.

Mike Magee leveled for the Galaxy in the 53rd with a dipping volley from outside the box and then Joe Hart had to make a couple of really good saves to deny the Galaxy the win during normal time.

Man City Squeak By Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1

For the second time on their U.S. tour, Shaun Wright-Phillips gave boss Roberto Mancini a reminder of his talents with a terrific 25-yard goal against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Man City has to come from behind to beat the worst team in MLS, a performance that will make City wonder how they will cope without their talisman Carlos Tevez next season.

This game had been in serious doubt and was only passed fit to play three hours before kick-off, but after no rain fell overnight and ten hours of warm sunshine, the pitch was deemed playable.

Carlos Tevez Wants Out Of Manchester

Carlos Tevez has reiterated his desire once again to leave Manchester City for family reasons.

The Argentina captain, who joined City from rivals Manchester United in 2009, said he cannot continue to live in the north west without his two daughters.

“I need to be closer to them and to spend more time with them,” Tevez said in a statement. “Living without my children in Manchester has been incredibly challenging for me. Everything I do, I do for my daughters. I need them to be happy because my life is about them now. I need to be in a place where they can adapt. I hope that the people understand the difficult circumstances I have been living under the past 12 months, in regards to my family.”

Adebayor Gives The Clearest Indication That He Will Leave Eastlands

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that he could join join Italian giants Juventus. Ade fell down the pecking order in Eastlands after the arrivals of Mario Balotelli and David Silva in the summer.

When this story first broke out immediately after City signed Balotelli, Mancini was quick to refute claims that the 25 million Pound signing’s playing days in the EPL were over.

Things have however changed. Adebayor has seen less and less of the pitch since the season begun and he is already starting to way his options. Speaking to Italian daily Tuttosport, Adebayor revealed that he would love to play for the Turin giants.
