Arjen Robben is a major doubt for Real Madrid’s crucial Liga matches against Sevilla and Barcelona because of a calf problem sustained during the 3-2 victory against city rivals Getafe on Wednesday.
The Dutch international replaced compatriot Rafael van der Vaart at half-time at the Santiago Bernabéu but was substituted 17 minutes later after experiencing a sharp pain in his right leg. Subsequent tests revealed that the 25-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 24 league appearances this season, could be sidelined for up to three weeks. Madrid, who sit second in the standings, travel to third-placed Sevilla on Sunday before hosting leaders Barcelona on 3 May.
