As the summer transfer window opens, whoscored.com put together a team of the worst Premier League signings from last summer. Not surprisingly, relegated QPR and Reading are well represented with five players combined.

One name that jumps out is Stoke City’s Charlie Adam. What has happened to him? When he was playing under Ian Holloway he was brilliant and his play almost single handily kept Blackpool in the Premier League in 2010-11, when he was one of seven nominees for the 2010–11 PFA Players’ Player of the Year award despite Blackpool getting relegated.

But the he moved to Liverpool and lasted only a year before being sold to Stoke last season, where he was poor all season, as his inclusion on this list shows. What is next for Charlie Adam?
