Guess Which Premier League Has The Biggest Drop In Form Compared To Last Season

Using the data from whoscored.com, here is a look at the Premier League players with biggest drop in ratings between last season and this.

Topping the list is LA Galaxy bound Steven Gerrard, as the Liverpool captain has been unable to recapture the form that helped Liverpool come so close to winning the title last season. Maybe at age 34, Gerrard has not been able to fully recover after playing in this summer’s World Cup.

Next is Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey who has struggled with injuries all season. For the first half of last season, Ramsey was the best player in the Premier League, but then he picked up a thigh injury just over a year ago and he has never been able to get back to that level of play. Ramsey is currently out injured after picking uo his third hamstring injury of the season, something that has to concern Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

Remember 18 months ago and Christian Benteke was one of the hottest Premier League strikers after scoring 23 goals in 30 appearances for Aston Villa. But then came the Paul Lambert effect and Bentke is a shadow of the player he was in 2012/13 scoring just 3 times in 19 appearances for Villa this season.

Another Belgium striker struggling this season is Everton striker Romelu Lukaku. Last season, Lukaku’s 16 goals in 33 games was one of the big reasons why Everton paid a club record fee of £28 million to sign him from Everton. But this season, Lukaku has failed to live up to his price tag, scoring just 10 times in 33 appearances.
