Chelsea Tie Willian Down For Four More Years

willian-cfcGood news for Blues fans as Willian has signed a new improved contract at Chelsea which will tie him to Stamford Bridge until 2020.

The four-year deal worth £120,000-a-week is reward for the Brazilian’s exceptional form last season and proves he will be an integral part of new manager Antonio Conte’s future plans.

The Brazil international was one of very few positive aspects of a disastrous title defence and cleaned-up at the club’s player of the year awards.

After signing the contract extension, Willian said: ‘

I’m very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea. It’s a dream to continue with this club and over the next four years I will try to help the team win more trophies.

‘It’s been an amazing time for me since I joined the club three years ago, I’ve won titles and last season I was named Chelsea Player of the Year.

Technical director Michael Emenalo added:

‘We are very pleased to agree a new long-term deal with Willian, who has proved himself to be an important player for the team since he arrived here.

We are looking forward to seeing his continued impact as we begin an exciting new campaign under first-team head coach Antonio Conte.’

It’s been a really good summer for Chelsea as they have persuaded Willian, Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa to stay despite interest from elsewhere and the absence of Champions League football next season.
