Bale Stalls On New Real Madrid Contract

bale-trophyGareth Bale would said that we would like to stay at Real Madrid, but he and his agents appear to be in no rush to sign a new deal with the Champions League holders.

With a FIFA transfer ban hanging over their head, the Spanish giants have been busy recently signing new deals with their stars.

Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have recently renewed their contracts, committing their future to the club until 2020 and 2022 respectively while Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to have also agreed to a contract extension too.

Gareth Bale’s agents are however taking their time with the negotiations, strengthened by the knowledge that both Manchester United and Chelsea are willing to break Paul Pogba’s transfer record to bring the Welshman back to the Premier League.

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid are offering to nearly double Bale’s wages, netting him over £250k per week AFTER tax, which would make him the club’s second-highest earner and put him ahead of captain Sergio Ramos. The release clause, a compulsory inclusion in the contract of every Spanish player, is expected to be half a billion euros.

With his performances at the end of last season and his play in the EUROs this past summer in France, Bale looks ready to step out of the shadow of Ronaldo and take on the mantle as the best player in Madrid. It will be interesting to watch how the relationship between Bale and CR& changes as Bake takes on the mantle as the Real Madrid star.
