The U.S. Men’s National Team is set to begin their 2025 Gold Cup campaign with a fresh look and a new head coach. Mauricio Pochettino has taken the reins and will guide a youthful American squad through Group D action. With many veteran players sidelined due to injury or club commitments, this Gold Cup will be a proving ground for the next generation of U.S. talent.
The U.S. opens the tournament on June 15 against Trinidad and Tobago at PayPal Park in San Jose. They will then face guest nation Saudi Arabia on June 19 at Q2 Stadium in Austin, followed by their group stage finale against Haiti on June 22 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Despite fielding a roster where over half the players have fewer than five international caps, expectations remain high. Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards and FC Dallas midfielder Paxton Pomykal are expected to take leadership roles.
