Thierry Henry Leads New York In Romp Over DC United

It’s been nine months on the making, but MLS fans are finally starting to see a healthy and fit Thierry Henry and that is bad news for the rest of Major League Soccer.

Henry was hampered by injuries last season and managed two goals in his first year in MLS. That is a total he matched against D.C. United last night were Henry scored two goals and had a hand in another as the Red Bulls look like they are finally starting to find their form. Last night’s 4-0 win against D.C. comes on the back of last week’s 3-0 win over San Jose, and NYRB are starting to look like that team that everyone picked to win the MLS Cup this season.

Last night the Red Bulls put United away early as Henry scored in the 12th and 38th minutes, both with assists from Jan Gunnar Solli. Joel Lindpere added another in the 76th minute and substitute Juan Agudelo rounded of the rout with a goal in second half injury time.
