Roma and Juventus Share The Spoils In Rome

As one unbeaten run came to a close in England, another ws sustained in Italy as the magic hands of Italy and Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon earned the Bianconeri a 1-1  draw with Roma.

It’s been interesting to see how the Italian Serie A is playing out these past couples of weeks. Many did not expect the likes of Lazio, Napoli and Udinese to put up such a stiff fight for such a long time.

Juve’s latest result sees them take their unbeaten run in the league to 14 games. Folowing their result, Juve moved back to the top of the league level on 30 points with Udinese. Defending Champions Milan are in third place just 2 points of the lead.

Another Player Criticises Guardiola

Yet another former Barcelona player is making news for criticising coach Pep Guardiola. Bojan Krkic the young Spaniard who had failed to make a meaningful impact for the Catalans this year, has found himself trying to bring clarity to the comments he made in the summer.

Bojan who is now with Italian club Roma, said that there was no bad blood between him and Guardiola and that contrary to Ibrahimovic’s story, he does not have anything against the Barca coach.

Speaking to EFE, Bojan said that the major reason he left Barca was because he was not receiving enough playing time.

Inter Lose To Catania

Italian giants Inter Milan are going through a dry spell in the Serie A that has seen them pick up only 3 points from their last 5 league games. In fact, things are so bad for the Nerazzurri that yesterday’s loss has left them only 1 point above the bottom 3.

This latest loss will only put more pressure to coach Claudio Ranieri who is looking to make a positive come back to coaching in the league after less than perfect stint with AS Roma . Despite taking the lead in the 6th minute through Estaban Cambiasso, Inter were stunned when Catania scored 2 quick goals which seemed to be all they needed to condemn Inter to their second straight league loss.

Serie A’s AS Roma Becomes American Owned

AS Roma have become the first major Italian team to have foreign ownership after a group of American investors signed a deal to buy the club.

The consortium, led by Thomas DiBenedetto, have agreed to buy a 67% controlling share of the club for 70.3m euro’s. DiBenedetto is also a partner in Fenway Sports Group, the U.S. based group that has bought Liverpool.

“The deal is done,” DiBenedetto said at a press conference on Friday. “There have been complicated points, but I never felt like giving up. I am proud of my Italian origins and for this reason I will do big things.”

Roma In Trouble As They Lose Riise For 20 Days

Just getting into the early stage of the season, As Roma already felt the negative aspect of tight schedule caused by the Euro 2012 qualifying round as they will lose their defender, John Arne Riise who was injured during his international duty.

The left back reportedly suffered a head injury while training for his country Norway in their preparation to play against Portugal on the Euro Qualifying round. Riise got the injury after coming off worse in an aerial duel against his own teammates Espen Ruud and was sent for immediate check up at hospital after the incident.

Having been left out from the Italian national squad that plays in the Euro 2012 qualifying round doesn’t seem to be a bad thing for Marco Borriello as it gives him time to prepare with his new club, As Roma.

Staying in Roma for the International weeks, left Borriello the time to practice and get to know his teammates more just before the Giallorossi’s upcoming match this upcoming weekend.

Although the former Ac Milan striker has just arrived at the final day of the market, it looks like his short training spell have been very impressive as reports suggested that he could get a starting spot next weekend.

Borriello Chooses Roma Because of De Rossi

As Roma’s new signing, Marco Borriello, made the headline after making a surprising switch from Ac Milan to the capital club just few hours before the transfer window closed despite being heavily linked with Juventus not long before that.

Revealing his decision to the press, Borriello stated that one of the main reasons he choses to play for the Giallorossi instead of Juve was because the persuasive text message send to him by Daniele De Rossi.

“I said no to Juventus because I am a sensible person and when I heard the President speak and I read the text message from De Rossi which gave me goosebumps, I immediately accepted,” Borriello said. “He text me to tell me to come here and ended with ‘we are going to win’.”

Roma Finally Ends Burdisso Saga

One of the longest transfer saga in the Serie A has finally ended after As Roma have finally find an agreement with Inter Milan to sign their whole summer target, Nicolas Burdisso.

According to the media in Italy, the Argentinian player have finally been brought to Roma with a fee around 8 million that will be paid in three installment.

This purchasing have been waited for a while by Roma especially their coach,Claudio Ranieri, who is a keen admirer of Burdisso, surely the official signing would give a boost for the club that will start their season later today against Cesena. Earlier this week, Ranieri was already pessimistic about the opportunity in acquiring the player that the Giallorosssi loaned from Inter last season.

Adriano’s plan to start against his former club, Inter Milan, in the upcoming Italian Super Cup match is in doubt after the latest report from Italy stated that the Brazilian striker will probably be benched for that game.

Reports claim that Giallorossi’s coach, Claudio Ranieri, is very disappointed with Adriano’s current showing in training and would consider to bench him against Inter.

Money isn’t everything in football, that’s what probably Inter Milan’s defender Nicolas Burdisso had in mind after reports stated that he would only choose Roma as his destination despite having bigger offer from Juventus.

Burdisso who was loan by Roma last season, look set to stay at the capital club permanently this season and leave his current owner, Inter, that doesn’t really have any intention in keeping him. However, the negotiation hasn’t had any breakthrough as there’s a huge numerical margin between the two clubs.
