Barcelona ‘Considering Another Move For Antoine Griezmann’

Barcelona are ready to reignite their interest in forward Antoine Girezmann this summer.

The international rejected the Catalan giants last summer having agreed a £260,000-a-week contract to play at the Nou Camp.

Griezmann’s £200million release clause is set to drop to £129m on July 1 and Ernesto Valverde’s side are looking to take advantage.

The World Cup winner has made it clear to close friends that he would be willing to accept the salary he agreed with Barcelona – £7m lower than what he is on now – .

Griezmann Wants To Leave Atletico Madrid – Again

Antoine Griezmann has reportedly started to regret his decision to turn down Barcelona in the summer and is hoping he can secure a move to the Nou Camp come the end of the season.

The French forward was strongly linked with the Catalan club but would go on to announce he was committing himself to Atletico Madrid in a documentary entitled ‘The Decision’, signing a new deal until 2023.

However, he now believes he made a mistake with Atletico exiting the Champions League and once again struggling to keep pace with Barca in the title race, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.

The Decision: Griezmann Stays At Atletico Madrid

Antoine Griezmann has rejected an £87million move to Barcelona and committed his future to Atletico Madrid.

The player revealed the snub to Barca in a bizarre documentary entitled ‘The Decision’ aired on a pay-to-view channel in Spain.

He claimed he had decided to stay after winning the Europa League with Atletico Madrid but then almost had his mind changed again when he was booed by a section of the club’s supporters.

‘I was very affected by it,’ he said. ‘I did not understand why they were whistling me.’ He then said Diego Simeone calmed him down finally helping make the decision to stay.

Atletico Madrid Make Huge Offer To Griezmann To Stay

Atletico Madrid have offered Antoine Griezmann around €10 million more than Barcelona in a last-ditch bid to keep him at the club.

The 27-year-old France international meets up with his French team-mates on Wednesday with his future still — publicly at least — undecided.

Barcelona are sure a deal that has been in place since the tail-end of last year will still go through. But while there is silence from Griezmann they are nervous about a similar situation which happened last summer, when they believed they had signed Marco Verratti from PSG only for him to stay in France.
