Getafe are said to be outraged at plans from the Spanish FA that would see them miss out on a Champions League spot.

There is growing consensus that the 2019/20 campaign will not be completed due to the indefinite suspension of football in Spain caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

As outlined by Marca and Cadena Cope, the Spanish FA say that the four Champions League places would go to the current top four in La LigaBarcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla and Real Sociedad and Getafe and Atletico de Madrid would go into the Europa League

The Spanish FA has confirmed its proposal on how to award European places in case the current La Liga season cannot be finished.

Athletic Bilbao’s run in the Europa League has been nothing less than phenomenal. The Basque based club knocked out the likes of Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon to book themselves a May 9th final date with giants Barcelona.

Iker Muniain has promised to get a tattoo should his side beat Barcelona in the final. The young Spanish striker has been in scintillating form for Bilbao scoring 5 times in 15 appearances for Bilbao.

Speaking to sports daily AS, Muniain was quoted as saying that he would tattoo the Europa League cup on his body.

After three years of wait, Real Madrid eventually bring the La Liga title back to the capital city after confirming their season effort at San Mames stadium this midweek by trashing Athletic Bilbao 3-0.

Athletic Bilbao managed to fulfill their ambition in reaching the Europa League final this season after successfully turning their 2-1 deficit in the first leg with a 3-1 victory over Portuguese representatives, Sporting Lisbon, at San Mames stadium.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side should be thanking their main striker, Fernando Llorente, for the success as the Spanish international was the one who netted in the decisive goal only two minutes from time.

Spanish duo Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid will face off in the Europa League final slated for May 9th after defeating Sporting Lisbon and Valencia respectively in last night’s semi finals.

Bilbao were 4-3 winners over Sporting while Atletico had a 5-2 aggregate win over Valencia. At the San Mames stadium, fans were treated to a very entertaining fixture between two sides that did not fail to entertain.

The game seemed to be heading for extra time until Fernando Llorente struck in the 88th minute to make it 3-1 on the night (4-3 on aggregate) and break the hearts of the traveling fans.
