Zanetti’s New Year’s Resolution

Mauricio Macri recibió distinciónInter Milan’s improvement in the last few matches have brought new confidence especially for the captain, Javier Zanetti, who believes that his club’s good form will continue after the current Christmas break.

The skipper believes that the break would not disturb their current good run as it should instead give the players the rest they need in order to recharge their energy again and continue the positive performances they’ve been having recently.

Zanetti also believes that the return of Diego Forlan and also possibly Wesley Sneijder after the break will give the team an extra lift of qualities which has been missing in the earlier part of the season as those two names especially Sneijder, continuously having injury issues. That’s why the captain hope that both of his colleagues can finally find their feet again from January, so the Nerazzurri can keep on going strong in the league and get themselves back on the Scudetto chace along with the other top teams.

This break will give us a chance to unwind, and we’ll have a week to relax with our families. Then on January 2 we’ll be back with those same objectives we always have in our minds. From January we’ll be able to count on [Wesley] Sneijder and [Diego] Forlan again – Wesley has been unlucky with injuries and Diego is getting his form back and really wants to show what he can do. Both of them will still need some time, but they’ll be back,” Zanetti said.

Moreover, the Argentinian also hopes that by the end of season, his side can still win something as Zanetti believes that the Nerazzurri have the qualities and chances to do so. The captain added that the continuous support from their devoted fans are also one of the main reasons why Inter never stop fighting until the end and will continue to do so for the remaining of this season.

“Let’s hope we raise another new trophy again at the end of the season. We are Inter and we are still in the running: along with our fans whose support spurs us on,” the captain added.
