Yaya Toure has expressed his feelings before about wanting to leave Barcelona for a possibly switch to the English Premier League and it now seems that his wish may come true as Toure’s agent went on to reveal that he could be leaving the club very soon.
Although Dimitri Seluk (Toure’s agent), suggested that Toure is very close to leaving the Spanish champions, Selik also went on to state that he has not spoken to Barcelona president Sandro Rosell yet and will do so before any final decisions are made.
Dimitri Seluk went on to say the following :
“I think we will probably close his departure very soon. It is likely to be this week, but at the moment we can’t announce anything. I haven’t spoken to Rosell, but out of respect of course I will speak to him before anything is closed.Laporta is the president until June 30, but I have to speak to Rosell and know his opinion because he is the new president.”
With Pep Guardiola as the current head-coach of Barcelona, Toure has not been seeing the field as much as he has been wanting and with both Toure and his agent feeling that Toure should definitely be seeing more minutes because of his talent, a huge part of why Toure want’s to leave the club is because of the lack of playing time he has been given.
The average percentage of minutes that Toure has seen in the last season was just 65% and that is not sufficient for a player of Yaya Toures caliber as his agent went on to state as well.
If Toure decides to depart from the club, one club that is serious about signing the Ivory Coast midfielder is Billionaire club, Manchester City, who are on the hunt to once again dash out a large amount of money to re-build their club. If Toure makes the switch to Manchester City in the transfer window, there is no doubt that he will be seeing much more playing time as Manchester City are looking to have someone of his presence on the field.
