If there was ever a great start by Chelsea to a season, it has to be this one. The Blues have won all their 5 league games convincingly creating a huge goal difference over their nearest challengers Arsenal and Manchester United.
Chelsea prepare to face Manchester City on Saturday at Eastlands in a highly entertaining fixture that could end the Blue’s reign of terror. However, Ancelotti will be happy to know that he will have both John Terry and Frank Lampard for selection.
Terry who did not play in their 4-0 win on Saturday due to a rib injury has recovered while Lampard who has been out of action since August due to a hernia operation has resumed training with the club.
“Frank is training, he is not 100 per cent yet,” Ancelotti said. “He will be able to play against Manchester City. Terry had a problem with his ribs and was not able to play, but he should be okay in two or three days.”
Even in their absence the Blues have been very impressive and one can only imagine what their addition to the squad will do. Of course City will not be an easy opponent, but considering Chelsea’s recent form the Blues are definitely the hot favourites to win the match.
City are up to fourth in the table are confident after beating Wigan 2-0 Last Saturday. Carlos Tevez was the hero on the day raising questions whether Mancini hasresorted to benching Adebayor.
Contrary to reports doing the rounds, Mancini has claimed that there is not tension between him and Ade, however, one does not need to hear his reaffirmations to believe that.
This brings me back to the question whether City could end Chelsea’s perfect run in the league? I highly doubt it, Chelsea are not only playing with belief but also with a winning mentality.
This is very crucial if you are to remain consistent. Saturday’s match will definitely be a tough one and should they win, then they will be one step closer to successfully defending their title.
