Who Will Make the Serie A Top Four?

Il biscione e l'fc internazionale1) Inter

Last year’s treble winners should be worthy of at least a double this season. The key players have been resigned and are locked up for good, but the one key loss this season is the Special One himself Jose Mourinho. Rafa Benitez should be able to hold onto first place with an excellent artillery of Milito, Eto, and Sneijder at attacking midfield. Add on the fact he has one of the best keepers in the world, arguably the best back line, and they also could bring in Javier Mascherano of Liverpool…. WOW.

2) Roma

Roma has finished in second place four out of the last five years in Serie A league play. So in other words they are probably the safest bet to do it again this year. Their most interesting off season acquisition was Brazilian star Adriano. The forward was overlooked this summer, but could be a difference maker for Totti’s squad.

3) AC Milan

Ronaldinho’s club has fended off the eager buyers and the Brazilian might even finish his career with the Italian side. Pato enters the season with a few lingering injuries, but looked fantastic in the Brazilian-USA friendly earlier in the month. The club could still use one more striker and apparently Zlatan Ibrahimovic is only interested in joining three teams and one of them is named AC Milan. That could jump them up to second or even first if that were to happen.

4) Juventus

Juve has something to prove this season and last year the club was troubled with many injuries and few reliable defensive starters. Buffon has apparently committed himself to the Italian side and hopes to play plus 30 games this season despite only being able to reach that mark two times in the last six years for his side in Serie A play. The club lacked the consistent finisher last season and no player reached the double digit mark. Age will still be a factor for the former top four club.
